Benefits of exfoliation
With exfoliation, thanks to fine abrasive particles, dead cells are removed from the surface of the skin, pores are unclogged and toxins are cleaned. This stimulates blood circulation, accelerates the process of skin exchange and regeneration, and the result is a healthier and fresher look.
How and how often to exfoliate
With normal skin, you can apply an exfoliant at most 2 times a week to avoid skin irritations. If your skin is sensitive or you have skin problems – exfoliate very carefully no more than once a week, preferably after consulting a dermatologist.
The best time to exfoliate is in the evening. Apply the exfoliating mixture to damp, clean skin using gentle circular motions with your hands or a soft cloth with natural fibers. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and finish with cold to tighten pores. After the procedure, apply your preferred skin care products.
Easily available natural exfoliants
Coffee
The coffee grounds or the grounded coffee itself are applied. The caffeine in coffee helps reduce cellulite. It also contains antioxidants that protect the skin from the effects of the environment and reduce the signs of skin aging.
Sugar
Choose sugar with fine crystals for a milder exfoliating effect. Sugar has natural moisturizing properties and contains active ingredients such as glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, which have a beneficial effect on the skin.
Salt
Natural salt is rich in magnesium, iron, iodine and other valuable trace elements for the skin. It has the ability to remove toxins from the body and excess water, dissolve fat and exfoliate dead skin cells. Whether it’s sea salt or Himalayan salt, make sure it’s fine-grained.
Ground herbs and nuts
Ground dry or raw herbs – peppermint, lavender, calendula, chamomile, ground oats, flaxseed and others are ideal additions to the scrub mix. The active substances in the herbs and nuts enhance the healing effect of the procedure.
