During the widespread prevalence of viral infections, aromatherapy, specifically the use of essential oils, can help protect us from the development of the illness or assist in alleviating symptoms and aiding the body’s recovery.

How do essential oils work?

Essential oils enter our bodies in three different ways:

  • through the skin;
  • via inhalation;
  • through ingestion.

The most popular and easily applicable method is inhalation.

The oils are vaporized into the air using a diffuser, preferably ultrasonic, spray, or oil droplets placed on fabric or cotton cloth.

Inhaled through the nose, the aromatic molecules from essential oils interact with the olfactory organs and almost instantly reach the brain. They also reach the lungs, which are connected to the circulatory system, allowing the molecules to enter the bloodstream directly. It is precisely this quick and short path of healing aromas to the body that enables improvement of a person’s health or mood.

Besides providing pleasant aromas, they also offer respiratory disinfection, clear the nose, and ease breathing, while also influencing our psycho-emotional state.
